Systinet launches site for Web services developers

Developer's Corner, http://dev.systinet.com/, a new online community for users of Web services tools from Systinet Corp., launched this week.

The Cambridge, Mass.-based tool vendor said it expects to serve the more than 25,000 developers, architects and IT managers listed on the rolls of registered users of Systinet products.

Systinet officials said the site contains product and technology information, code samples, free downloads and support services for users of the product line.

Support includes demos, tutorials and best-practices documents; registered users can also read and join the Systinet discussion forums for Java and C/C++ developers.

Developer's Corner is designed to meet the information needs of a Systinet users group that has grown by more than 40% in the past six months with an attendant increased volume of 'how-to' questions, according to Systinet Senior Vice President Gregg Bjork. While the site is intended for both novice and veteran Web services developers, he said the company is also responding to users working on what he characterizes as the increasing 'sophistication of Web services deployments.'

On Monday, the official launch day, the counter on the Developer's Corner site touted up 3,882 daily visitors out of a registered community listed at 22,745.

Visitors do not have to register to surf the site, according to Systinet officials. However, registration is required to gain access to case studies and white papers or free downloads of a single CPU license for the company's server product.
